Marlins News

Miami has reportedly been interested in adding another starter to its rotation. But MLB.com's Joe Frisaro doesn't think the Marlins will add another starter:

When Opening Day rolls around, Miami’s fifth starter will be – (envelope, please) – Edwin Jackson. Vice president of pitching development Jim Benedict pushed for the Jackson signing. We’ll see what tweaks are made in Jackson’s mechanics to make him one of the surprise additions this year.

Wei-Yin Chen is among the players to watch in 2016.

Martin Prado gives the Marlins a productive veteran option at third base.

Dee Gordon was among the best second baseman in the National League that season. He should have more success this season.

Tim Lincecum remains an option for the Marlins if he proves he is healthy.

Chen's contract with the Marlins includes a notable opt-out clause.

Miami will rely on J.T. Realmuto behind the plate in 2016.

Around the League

The White Sox are considering signing Ian Desmond.

Baltimore and Yovani Gallardo are close on reaching an agreement.

Dexter Fowler and Jay Bruce remain options for the Orioles.

Carlos Torres received a minor league deal from the Braves.
