Marlins News

Adeiny Hechavarria was primarily known for his skills with the leather before the 2015 campaign, but after breakout year with the bat, the Marlins will be hoping for more of the same from the player they have held in such high regard for a number of years now.

The Marlins will have one of the most dynamic middle infield pairings in all of baseball if the man who lines up next to Hechavarria on the field, Dee Gordoncontinues his form from last year which saw him win a batting title, a stolen base crown and a Gold Glove, as well as lead the league in hits.

Former Marlin John Baker has found himself a new job with the Cubs after hanging up his glove in 2014.

Tanking has the ability to affect every team in baseball, so Marlin Maniac has come up with a few ideas with how to combat the growing issue.

Around the League

There are reports that the Orioles are talking to free agent Yovani Gallardo, a possible Marlins target, and a deal could be close.

There is a rising 21 year-old star in Japan, and he is pretty good at both pitching AND batting.

Emerging slugger J.D. Martinez and the Detroit Tigers have finalized a two-year deal worth $18.5 million.

Reigning AL MVP Josh Donaldson has been rewarded for his efforts in 2015 by agreeing with the Blue Jays on a two-year, $29 million contract extension.
