Miami Marlins News:

The Marlins left the GM meetings with adding pitching at the top of their priority list. Aroldis Chapman and Kenley Jansen are names that have thrown around but the Fish will need to bolster the rotation as well.

The Marlins spring training schedule for 2017 was recently released. The Marlins will open up the spring on the 25th.

The Marlins plan to honor the late Jose Fernandez with a memorial. Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria did not yet provide details about the memorial but the art dealer said that it would be "something beautiful"

Around the League:

The Hot Stove is finally starting to heat up as teams have been busy making moves following the prolific game seven of the World Series.

Following the MLB's suspension of Padres GM, AJ Preller, the league has decided to standardize medical information. A.J. Preller was suspended for not disclosing important health information on players that he was trading to other teams.

The Rookie of the Year Award winner will be announced soon but this years winner is far from a lock in either league, especially the AL. Many have debated whether the historic performance Gary Sanchez made following his late season call up will be enough or whether Tyler Naquin, who played nearly a full season will take it.
