Former Marlins and Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez might be a candidate to become the Marlins’ next third base coach, according to Clark Spencer of The Miami Herald.

Since the Marlins are familiar with Gonzalez, he could emerge as one of the more favorable options. He similarly has experience within the National League East, which could prove to be valuable.
Atlanta fired Gonzalez, and as a result, he could accept a third base coach role before being considered for future managerial positions. Gonzalez, though, could also be considered for managerial jobs this off-season.
While the Marlins already made several changes to their coaching staff, at least one more move is coming, according to SiriusXM’s Craig Mish.

Miami was active Monday, firing hitting coach Barry Bonds and third base coach Lenny Harris.
The Marlins are expected to make the moves official during their season-ending press conference at Marlins Park on Wednesday afternoon.
