The Marlins were no-hit the last time these two teams met on the final day of the regular season back in 2014. Jordan Zimmerman was the pitcher that day for Washington and got Christian Yelich to line out to end the game.
Miami is looking to end the season with a victory, though the emotions from last Sunday are still high. The Marlins are 2-3 this past week and with be throwing out Tom Koehler to against the division winning Nationals.
Koehler (9-13) has struggled mightily losing five of his last seven starts, giving up 10 home runs and walking 20 batters in 34.2 innings. Miami is 0-7 in those games.
Max Scherzer (19-7) will be closing out the season for Washington and has won seven of his last eight starts. He's been dominant this year throwing a career high 277 strikeouts, while recording a .094 WHIP and 2.82 ERA. The Nationals ace has also given up career lows in hits and runs allowed as well.
