Friday night ended with a walk off win for the Miami Marlins in extra innings, but Saturday night's game in Miami didn't have as good of an outcome against the New York Mets. Brad Hand gave up a trio of home runs in the first two innings that put Miami down 7-0 in a short 1 2/3 inning appearance.
New York scored in the first inning when Travis d' Arnaud hit a three-run home run with David Wright and Yoenis Cespedes on base. The next batter Wilmer Flores hit a solo shot putting the Mets up 4-0.
In the next inning Hand gave up a home run to Juan Lagares with Eric Young on base. Eventually in the second inning Hand was replaced by Andre Rienzo.
Rienzo would go onto to give up an RBI single to d' Arnaud scoring Cespedes.
The Marlins were shut out by Bartolo Colon in the meantime, even as the team eked out nine hits. The club will go for the series win on Sunday afternoon with Jarred Cosart on the mound.
