Update -- The Marlins placed Jose Fernandez on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday afternoon.
ATLANTA -- Jose Fernandez's season might be over. Fernandez flew back to Miami after his start on Friday to have his shoulder evaluated and the Marlins have announced he is out with a right bicep strain.
There is no timetable for his return, however according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro, the Marlins are expected to place Fernandez on the disabled list and recall Justin Nicolino from Triple-A New Orleans to make the start against the Red Sox on Tuesday night.

With Fernandez returning from Tommy John surgery, the Marlins have been carefully monitoring Fernandez. He threw 112 pitches against the Padres last weekend and has only made seven starts in 2015. The Marlins might opt to shut Fernandez down for the remainder of the season.
Over 43.0 innings with the Marlins this season, Fernandez has posted a 2.30 ERA and 1.71 FIP.
