After being swept by the Mets, the Marlins head to Turner Field to open a four game weekend series with the Braves on Thursday night. Jose Urena will take the mound in game one.
Pitching Matchup
Record | ERA | FIP | MARLINS | Braves | FIP | ERA | RECORD |
1-5 | 4.37 | 4.51 | Urena | Wisler | -- | 4.29 | 5-2 |
Urena is coming off of a rough outing against the Padres, during which he allowed five runs (four earned runs) over five innings. His only career appearance against the Braves came in April, when he tossed a scoreless inning of relief in his major league debut.
Matt Wisler will be making his first career appearance against the Marlins.
Justin Bour remains in the cleanup spot with Jeff Mathis getting the start behind the plate for the Marlins.
Notes
-How will Urena pitch? Miami's bullpen has been taxed over the last few days.
-Can the Marlins score consistently? The club continues to use several different lineups.
Bold Prediction: Marlins top Braves 4-1
