Ichiro Suzuki has had a solid season with the Marlins and it got even better on Wednesday night. Suzuki's 2,900th career hit was an RBI double down the left field line at Marlins Park. Manager Dan Jennings continues to be impressed by Suzuki's style of play, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro.

"It was certainly great to see Ichiro collect his 2,900th hit," Marlins manager Dan Jennings said. "That's just a tribute to such an outstanding, Hall-of-Fame player that he is."

Scott Boras, who represents Marcell Ozuna, told Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald he is disturbed by the fact Ozuna is still in Triple-A.

Miami completed a deal that sent Mat Latos and Michael Morse to the Dodgers and a competitive balance pick to the Braves on Thursday afternoon. The Marlins received three minor league pitchers in return.

Dan Haren made one mistake on a pitch to Ryan Zimmerman on Thursday. But Zimmerman's home run was all of the offense necessary as the Marlins fell to the Nationals 1-0.

David Phelps will take the mound as the Marlins open a three game series with the Padres on Friday night.

The Indians are among the teams interested in Marcell Ozuna.

Tyler Kolek remains in the number one slot as MLB.com's 2015 prospect list is updated.

Starter Henderson Alvarez is out for the season following shoulder surgery. Alvarez was Miami's opening day starter.

Around the League

Houston acquired Mike Fiers and Carlos Gomez from Milwaukee on Thursday.

The Blue Jays were able to add David Price to their rotation.
