Today marked Miami's halfway point of the year. And while the Marlins haven't lived up to expectations, they are in the midst of a winning streak leading into the All-Star break.
Justin Bour's go-ahead home run in the sixth led the Marlins to a 2-1 victory at Wrigley Field earlier today. Tom Koehler kept the Cubs in check with six innings of five hit, one run ball.
Christian Yelich's first inning homer got the Marlins started on offense. The Cubs quickly responded with a pair of two out hits to tie the game in the bottom of the first. Both pitchers settled down, keeping the score as it was until the sixth. Justin Bour homered to right off of Hammel to give the Marlins a one run lead.
The bullpen took over for Koehler after the sixth and pitched three innings of shutout ball. Steve Cishek and Sam Dyson each picked up holds while A.J. Ramos grabbed his 13th save of the year.
With Bour's homer in the sixth, he has now hit a home run in four straight games. He and the Marlins look to make it five in a row tomorrow at 7:15 ET. The matchup is set for Jared Cosart against Clayton Richard. Cosart is making his first start since May 13 following a DL stint.
