Marlins News
Before getting hurt, Giancarlo Stanton was hot and his success is being recognized. According to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro, Stanton was named the National League's Player of The Month for the month of June.
In 24 games, the right-handed slugger hit .344 (31-for-90) with 12 home runs and 23 RBIs. The 12 homers tied the franchise record for most in a month. He also recorded a Major League-best .800 slugging percentage, hitting safely in 20 of 24 games on his way to his second Player of the Month honor (the first was in May 2012).
Jose Fernandez allowed three runs but struck out six over six innings in his 2015 debut. And to top it off, he hit a home run.
Miami announced it signed first round draft pick Josh Naylor on Thursday. He received a $2.25 million signing bonus.

The Marlins traded international slots 71 and 101 (totaling $500,000) to Tampa Bay in exchange for pitcher Enderson Franco, according to Clark Spencer of The Miami Herald.
