Marlins News

Mat Latos pitched well against the Padres on Sunday in what could be his last start as a Marlin. According to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro, Latos is not bothered by trade talks.

"I couldn't care less," Latos said of the rumors. "I'm not paying attention to that stuff. I told D.J. the same thing. I know this is all a business, and they have to do what they feel they have to do to make the ballclub better in the future."

J.T. Realmuto homered but the Marlins dropped their third straight to the Padres on Sunday afternoon.

After designating Jarrod Saltalamacchia for assignment, the Marlins were hoping Realmuto would produce consistently. He has done just that thus far.

Dan Haren can earn $3 million worth of incentives in 2015. As a result, trading Haren becomes complicated.

Jose Fernandez takes the mound as the Marlins open a three game set with the Nationals on Tuesday.

Miami had difficulty scoring against the Padres over the weekend.

Derek Dietrich has played well. Should he receive more playing time?

Overall, Adeiny Hechavarria continues to mature as a young shortstop.
