Jose Fernandez thrived in his first two home starts and is set for his first road start of 2015 against the Phillies on Friday. Tom Koehler and Dan Haren will pitch on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Although the Marlins had a rough first half, the club is still confident in its core. President of Baseball Operations Michael Hill does not anticipate on dealing any young core players before the end of the month.

Dee Gordon did not play in the All-Star Game because of his thumb injury but still traveled to Cincinnati to represent the Marlins.

Miami acquired lefty reliever Chris Reed from the Dodgers on Wednesday afternoon. Reed will head to Triple-A New Orleans and gives the Marlins relief depth.

Giancarlo Stanton, Jeff Conine, Mike Lowell, and Gary Sheffield make up Miami's Franchise Four.

A.J. Ramos and Carter Capps have had success in the back of Miami's bullpen. The pair is poised for a big second half.

Managerial change and injuries punctuated a busy first half for Miami.

Jarred Cosart thrives. A.J. Ramos doesn't blow a save. Bold predictions for the second half.

Henderson Alvarez should be back by the end of July. Martin Prado is not too far off.

Around the League

A 154 game schedule will reportedly be discussed moving forward.

The Nationals cleared Jayson Werth for a rehab assignment.

Freddie Freeman won't return until August after being plagued by a wrist injury.

Will Jonathan Papelbon be dealt? It remains quite possible.
