Miami dealt one lefty for another on Wednesday afternoon. The Marlins acquired Chris Reed from the Dodgers in exchange for Grant Dayton, the club announced. Reed will head to Triple-A New Orleans after being designated for assignment by the Dodgers.

Reed, 25, has seen time in both Double and Triple-A in 2015. Over 23.2 innings in Double-A, Reed has posted a 7.23 ERA and 5.29 FIP. He was the Dodgers' first round pick in the 2011 draft and was deemed the tenth best prospect in the Dodgers' minor league system after having success last season. Reed has also posted a 3.27 ERA and 3.76 FIP over 11 innings with Triple-A and will give the Marlins left-handed bullpen depth.

Dayton, 27, has posted a 2.83 ERA and 2.47 FIP over 35.0 innings in Triple-A this season. He was selected in the 11th round of the 2010 draft but was not listed as one of Miami's top prospects heading into 2015.
