Marlins News:

Jose Fernandez made his second start of the season and had success at Marlins Park on Thursday night. He struck out nine over seven shutout innings and credited his teammates while speaking to's Joe Frisaro.

"Obviously, I can't do it by myself," Fernandez said. "It's a team game. They played a great game today. I'm thankful and I'm grateful, too."

Giancarlo Stanton is set to have stitches removed from his hand in a few days. He is still expected to be out for four to six weeks, though.

Miami is considering signing Casey McGehee and he could join the club as soon as Friday night.

The Marlins committed five errors over a two game stretch against the Red Sox. Miami fell in both contests.
