Marlins News:

Jose Fernandez made his second start of the season and had success at Marlins Park on Thursday night. He struck out nine over seven shutout innings and credited his teammates while speaking to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro.

"Obviously, I can't do it by myself," Fernandez said. "It's a team game. They played a great game today. I'm thankful and I'm grateful, too."

Giancarlo Stanton is set to have stitches removed from his hand in a few days. He is still expected to be out for four to six weeks, though.

Miami is considering signing Casey McGehee and he could join the club as soon as Friday night.

The Marlins committed five errors over a two game stretch against the Red Sox. Miami fell in both contests.

David Phelps is back in the rotation and will make the start against Cincinnati on Friday.

Stanton is disappointed he will miss out on the All-Star festivities. But being healthy is his primary concern.

Miami has had to find creative ways to get runs without Stanton in the lineup.

Marcell Ozuna has consistently struggled in 2015. What has caused the offensive slump?
