MLB Scores: Miami Marlins 2, Cincinnati Reds 0

Jose Fernandez collects his second win of the season in a 2-0 win at home.

Jose Fernandez so far has lived up to the hype since his return to the mound for Miami. Fernandez earned his second win of the season Thursday night against the Reds by striking out nine batters and giving up no earned runs over seven innings of work.

In the first inning All- Star Dee Gordon got on base with a single. Later in the inning he would steal second and third base. Following Gordon's arrival to third base Justin Bour hit a double that drove in Gordon.

Miami added to their lead  in the fifth inning thanks to Dee Gordon again. After Gordon singled he collected his third steal of the night and thirty- third of the season.  He would later score when Adeiny Hechavarria grounded out into a double play.

The Marlins bullpen also had a great night in addition to Fernandez. Carter Capps was brought into the game for the eight inning and retired all the batters he faced resulting in a hold. AJ Ramos closed out the game in the ninth despite giving up a double to Joey Votto to start the inning.
