Marlins News:

Giancarlo Stanton is open to participating in the annual Home Run Derby again in 2015. According to ESPN.com, Stanton is just seeking an invitation:

"If I'm asked, I'll do it," he said Friday before the Marlins' 5-0 loss to the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park.

David Phelps pitched well against the Yankees but had trouble against the Reds on Sunday. He allowed two home runs and five total runs five and two third innings.

Dee Gordon tried to score from first base on a Derek Dietrich double. But it didn't work.

Marlins President of Baseball Operations Michael Hill is confident the club can get close to five hundred in the coming days. As a result, the Marlins are not expected to sell major league pieces.

Andre Dawson believes Stanton can dominate in the derby. He just has to be invited first.

Jose Urena will make the start on Tuesday against the Cardinals as the Marlins prepare to open a lengthy homestand. The Cardinals, Dodgers, and Giants will all make appearances at Marlins Park.

Justin Nicolino tossed seven shutout innings in his major league debut. But is he here to stay?

Trades of the past played a major role in the weekend series against the Reds.

Marlins want to gain ground and they want to do it quickly.
