Coming off a series win, Miami went into Monday night's game at home ready to face the Yankees in another four game series. The Fish got off to a slow start but Tom Koehler and some offensive help led to a 2-1 win.
To start off the second inning Mark Teixiera hit a solo homerun off Tom Koehler. This would be the Yankees only run of the game.
Later in the second inning Derek Dietrich hit a double to left field. The next batter, Adeiny Hechavarria, hit an RBI single that drove in Dietrich from second.
In the seventh inning Derek Dietrich, scored another run but this time with a solo blast that puth the Fish up 2-1.
Koehler was removed from the game after seven innings of work, giving up only one earned run along with five strikeouts. Carter Capps got the hold by pitching the eighth inning. Finally, AJ Ramos collected his ninth save of the season by closing the game out in the ninth.
Miami plays tomorrow at home but on Wednesday travels to Yankee Stadium to play the final two games of the series.
