Miami Marlins morning news: Jose Urena will receive another start

Urena will get another opportunity after struggling against the Pirates. Plus links on Adeiny Hechavarria and Dan Jennings' lineup change.

Despite having difficulty against the Pirates, Jose Urena will get another opportunity. According to MLB.com's Alden Woods, Urena will pitch in the first game of a three game series against the Cubs on Monday night.

After wrapping up a six-game road trip, Jose Urena and the Marlins open a three-game series at home against Jason Hammel and the Cubs on Monday. Urena, Miami's No. 2 prospect according to MLB.com, will be making his second Major League start. The right-hander took a loss at Pittsburgh last Tuesday, giving up five runs on 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings.

David Phelps pitched well on Sunday afternoon but Miami fell to the Mets 4-3.

Manager Dan Jennings opted to have Phelps bat eighth on Sunday afternoon against the Mets. Jennings was working with a short bench and the lineup produced nine hits.

Steve Cishek allowed the go-ahead run in the seventh against the Mets on Sunday. The struggles continue.

Jose Fernandez will pitch in an extended spring game on Monday alongside Jarred Cosart.

Adeiny Hechavarria is not expected to be out for a long period of time after being involved in a collision over the weekend.

Miami did not place the "interim" manager tag on Dan Jennings. But does that mean they will not make a change this season?
