The Marlins got off to a fast start being ahead 3-0 by just the second inning but could not hold back the O's from coming back to win the game 8-5. Miami has lost their last eight games, all of which have been played in Miami. Dan Jennings has yet to win his first game while acting as manager for the Fish. Henderson Alvarez took the loss after five innings of work giving up four earned runs.

Giancarlo Stanton hit an RBI single off Jimenez in the first inning that drove in Dee Gordon. Miami continued to do damage in the second inning with a single from Henderson Alvarez that allowed Ichiro to score. Later in the inning Marcell Ozuna was able to get on base after a fielders choice to second allowing Hechavarria to score.

Miami was ahead 3-0 so early, what went wrong?

The Orioles got on the board in the fifth after an RBI double from Delmon Young that allowed Alejandro de Aza to score. In the next at bat Manny Machado drove in Caleb Joseph with a ground out.

Alvarez continued to allow runs in the sixth after J.J. Hardy hit a sacrifice bunt that the pitcher threw over Martin Prado's head at third base while trying to get out Chris Davis at third (shown in the picture). After this error, Alvarez was removed from the game. With Cishek on the mound, Baltimore took the lead later that inning with a single from Caleb Joseph that drove in Travis Snider and J.J. Hardy. To finish off a disastrous inning, Jimmy Paredes singled to Cishek to drive in Caleb Joseph, making the score 6-3.

Miami tried to comeback with a double from Michael Morse that allowed Hechavarria to score, but that was not enough.

Brad Hand came in to start the eighth but after just two batters Sam Dyson was brought in. Dyson gave up a RBI double to Manny Machado scoring Caleb Joseph and Steve Pearce.

The Marlins's last try for a comeback came in the bottom of the ninth with a solo homerun from Justin Bour but that was not enough in the 8-5 loss.
