MLB Scores: Miami Marlins 1, New York Mets 3

Marlins fall to the New York Mets 1-3 despite a great pitching performance by Jarred Cosart.

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports
After a seven inning pitching duel between the Marlin's Jarred Cosart and the Mets' Dillon Gee, the Mets came out on top after erasing a 1-0 deficit. Cosart pitched for eight innings giving up only two hits with two walks. Gee pitched for 7.2 innings giving up one earned run.

The pitching duel ended in the eighth when Martin Prado hit a two out RBI single to center that drove in pinch runner Reid Brignac from second.

In the top of the ninth Juan Lagares hit a lead off double. Then Lucas Duda was walked by the Marlins closer Steve Cishek. After one out Daniel Murphy hit the go ahead three run homerun off Cishek.

Cishek was credited with a loss and a blown save in Miami's 1-3 loss. New York's Jeurys Familia got his league leading ninth save of the season.
