Miami ended its four game losing streak on Wednesday night and has the opportunity to win the series with the Phillies on Thursday afternoon. David Phelps will oppose Dustin McGowan on the mound.

Phelps was slotted into the rotation when Henderson Alvarez was placed on the disabled list and may make at least a few more starts. In his last outing against the Mets, Phelps tossed 4.2 innings while allowing one run to complement three walks and two strikeouts.

Dustin McGowan was initially used out of the bullpen for the Phillies, and allowed a run in his last inning of relief against the Nationals.
