After getting swept at home by the Braves, the Marlins had an extra inning 10-9 win Friday night. The Marlins are hoping that their offensive production continues in the second game of this three game series. This afternoon Chris Archer will oppose Jarred Cosart in Tampa.

Pitching Matchup

PROJ ERA FIP ERA MARLINS RAYS ERA FIP
3.89 --- --- Cosart Archer 4.76 6.22

Tampa will start Chris Archer in today's game. This is his second start of the season. In his first start of the year he gave up 3 earned runs against the Orioles in a 2-6 loss.

The Marlins projected starter Jarred Cosart has had a very eventful start to his season even before he made his first start. There has been speculation that Cosart bet on baseball. After an investigation commissioner Manfred only fined Cosart. In addition to this Cosart was expected to take the mound earlier this season but a hounding blister on his middle finger has limited his action.

Today's Lineups

This is the same lineup that the Marlins won with last night. This will likely be the lineup Mike Redmond will use for most of the season.

Notes

- Can Cosart bounce back from his off field issues and injury?

-Last year the Marlins swept the Citrus Series 4-0, in 2013 the Rays swept the series 4-0

-The Marlins have 5 game win streak against the Rays

Bold Prediction: Marlins top Rays 3-1
