Marlins News

Marcell Ozuna has seen early success in the Majors after being an international player brought through the Marlins farm system.  The Marlins have a few more international players in their system that could get major league call-ups in the near future.

On Monday Dan Haren threw four scoreless innings and, after pondering retirement, he is starting to feel comfortable with the Marlins. Haren could be a vital piece to the Marlins rotation, especially as they wait for Jose Fernandez to return.

In an interview with the New York Times, Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria said that he was confident about this upcoming season and likes that the Marlins are flying under the radar as a possible playoff contender.

With expectations rising on the field for the Marlins, they will be traveling in style off of the field this season with a brand new private team jet. The jet has the Marlins logo on it, a massage table, and a card table.

Around the League

The Mets promising, young rotation took a hit on Monday after it was announced that Zach Wheeler will likely need Tommy John surgery after suffering a UCL tear in his elbow.

Cliff Lee was placed on the 60-day DL after suffering a torn tendon in his arm.

With a new commissioner in charge of MLB, Pete Rose has asked Rob Manfed to review his case in hopes of getting his lifetime ban lifted.

After getting voted into the Hall of Fame this past year, Craig Biggio voiced his case for Jeff Bagwell to join him in Cooperstown.
