Marlins News

Following a stellar year in his first season in Miami, the Marlins have been in talks with Dee Gordon this offseason regarding an extension. Including this coming season, the speedy second basemen has three more years of arbitration remaining on his deal.

David Price, Zach Greinke, Johnny Cueto, and Jeff Samardzija are all off the board, but that doesn't concern the Marlins who are patiently waiting to sign to sign the right pitcher.

Trade rumors have swirled around Jose Fernandez in the past couple of weeks, but the Marlins ace is tuning out the noise.

A.J. Ramos was solid in his fill-in role as the Marlins closer in 2015, but it may be time for the Marlins to deal him away while his value is high.

Around the League

Johnny Cueto and the Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to a six-year deal worth $130 million.

Commissioner Rob Manfred denied Pete Rose's reinstatement back into the game of baseball.

The Dodgers lost out on some of the bigger free agent pitchers on the market, but there are still some significant arms available to be signed.

After agreeing to a two-year deal, the Mariners are expected to use Steve Cishek as their closer.
