Fernandez might be moved this winter.

Update -- Jose Fernandez is not being shopped, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro.

Jose Fernandez has anchored Miami's rotation but he might not be a starter for the Marlins for long. There is a "growing sentiment" Fernandez will be moved this winter, according to Sirius XM'S Craig Mish.

Although the Marlins have spoken about Fernandez anchoring their rotation for seasons to come, the situation might have changed. The Marlins have reportedly attempted to extend Fernandez multiple times, however he declined each offer.

Fernandez is represented by Scott Boras, who has a tendency to encourage his clients to receive large contracts via free agency. Miami, specifically President David Samson, has spoken out against Boras, specifically when asked if the Marlins would consult the agent when determining an innings limit for Jose Fernandez.

Boras has also publicly noted his discontent with regard to the Marlins' decision to keep Marcell Ozuna in the minor leagues.

Fernandez, 23, pitched to a 2.92 ERA and 2.24 FIP over 64.2 innings. He only made 11 starts after recovering from Tommy John surgery.
