What we learned from Miami Marlins' end of season press conference

Everything we learned from Tuesday afternoon's press conference.

Miami's end of the season press conference revealed some new information while also publicly announcing what was expected.

Here is everything we learned:

Dan Jennings will not be the manager in 2016

Although Jennings expressed some interest in returning to the dugout next season, the Marlins are seeking an experienced candidate to take over in 2016.

Manny Acta and Larry Bowa have already been interviewed and Dusty Baker has been linked to the job. Miami wants experience, so it was expected Jennings would not manage next season.

Jennings was asked to return as GM, has not yet made a decision

According to President David Samson, Jennings was always the GM. He is still signed, but there have been multiple reports suggesting he has lost power within the Marlins' front office since being asked to manage.

FOX Sports' Christina De Nicola notes Jennings has not formally determined what he would like to do yet.

Fences at Marlins Park will be moved in

Marlins Park is known for its spacious gaps, and how much they will be moved is likely still being discussed. The bottom line here is changes are coming to the stadium as a result of player feedback, not because the front office felt like making the change.

New manager, analytics top offseason priorities

Miami's current goal is to hire a manager. But the organization is also planning to become more familiar with and utilize advanced metrics moving forward.

As noted on Monday, the Marlins' current assistant coaches are free to explore other opportunities since the new manager will be responsible for putting a staff together.

Ichiro signing made official

Suzuki now has an opportunity to reach 3,000 career hits as a member of the Marlins.
