Marlins News

Miami and Don Mattingly have continued their talks to bring the manager to south Florida since the official interview on Monday. A deal is looking more likely by the hour.

Preston Wilson may have had many successful years for the Fish as both a player and commentator, but he has ties to this year's World Series that date back as far as 1986.

A slump, a demotion to the minor leagues, and a less than spectacular comeback pretty much sums up the 2015 season for Marcell Ozuna after a breakout campaign in 2014.

Giancarlo Stanton hit 27 home runs this season, but they all came before the All-Star Break as he went down with a broken hand at the end of June, and never returned. After the injury, production from right field was limited.

Baseball America has updated Miami's top prospects list, and there has been some movement near the top.

Around the League

Johnny Cueto threw a 122-pitch gem to lead the Royals to a 2-0 series lead over the Mets last night.

Royals manager Ned Yost barely selpt before game two of the World Series; maybe he slept a little better after the 7-1 win.

Former Marlin Andrew Miller was awarded the Mariano Rivera American League Reliver of the Year before game two last night. Miller had 36 saves and a 2.04 ERA in 2015.

The Nationals look set to hire Bud Black as their next manager. Black was reportedly one of the Marlins' candidates for the vacant manager position before Don Mattingly became available.
