Don Mattingly is interviewing with the Marlins Monday, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro.

Miami is unlikely to announce any hire until the World Series concludes. If the interview goes well, Mattingly, considered the favorite for the job, could be hired immediately. However, the Marlins could also interview other candidates moving forward.

After he and the Dodgers mutually parted ways at the end of last week, Mattingly emerged as the favorite to land the Marlins job. He reportedly has a great relationship with Owner Jeffrey Loria and led the Dodgers to three consecutive National League West division titles.

Since the Marlins informed Dan Jennings he would not manage in 2016, the club has been actively searching for a new manager. Phil Nevin, Bo Porter, Manny Acta and Larry Bowa are among the other candidates for the job.
