Miami made a minor trade, sending Trevor Williams to the Pirates in exchange for Richard Mitchell, according to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald.

There was a minor Marlins trade today: They acquired minor league right-handed pitcher Richard Mitchell from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for minor-league right-hander Trevor Williams.

Jim Benedict was named vice president of pitching development on Friday. He has a reputation for identifying young talent throughout his career.

Even at 42, Ichiro Suzuki will prove to help the Marlins off the bench and in the outfield heading into 2016.

Adeiny Hechavarria is a candidate for the Best Defensive Player award.

Don Mattingly and the Dodgers decided to part ways, and the Marlins appear to be interested in the former Yankee.
