Miami Marlins vs. Washington Nationals: Game 162 Thread and Ichthyomancy

The final game of the season in 2014 pits the Marlins versus the Nationals and Henderson Alvarez on the mound to finish things off, much like he did last year.

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals get to face off for the final game of the 2014 season, and in that game the team has a chance to do what seemed impossible at the start of the year: finish in a tie for second place. And guess who is on the mound for today's contest against a Nationals team with nothing to play for? Henderson Alvarez, owner of the season-ending no-hitter from last year! He'll face off against Jordan Zimmermann in the finale.

Alvarez threw a no-hitter on the final game of the season last year in Miami. It's not going to happen again, but it's totally worth mentioning #MJIJ.
