The Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals battle again in the third of a four-game weekend series between the two squads. The Marlins got closer to the division-winning Nats yesterday, but still fell short in a 3-2 loss. Now the team sends out Jarred Cosart, who has been pitching brilliantly since arriving in Miami, to face Jordan Zimmermann.
Pitching Matchup
PROJ ERA | FIP | ERA | MARLINS | NATIONALS | ERA | FIP | PROJ ERA |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
3.45 | 3.61 | 3.67 | Cosart | Zimmermann | 2.83 | 2.78 | 3.07 |
Jarred Cosart has been really good in a Marlins uniform, which has been an extremely surprising new finding. Jordan Zimmermann has been really good for the Nats, which has not been a surprise so far this year.
Lineup
Justin Bour gets another opportunity at first base, and at this point Miami may be considering him for a job next season, which might not be a bad thing. Reed Johnson takes right field tonight.
Bold Prediction: Marlins def. Nationals 3-2
