A ninth inning rally against Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon gave the Marlins their only lead of the afternoon that would not be lost in a 5-4 victory over Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia doubled, Enrique Hernandez walked, and Adeiny Hechavarria singled to load the bases with nobody out. Jordany Valdespin grounded out which allowed Saltalamacchia to score, and a Christian Yelich RBI single made it a 4-3 contest.

Justin Bour singled to tie the game, and Yelich scored on a wild pitch which gave Miami its first lead of the day before Steve Cishek closed things in the bottom of the frame.

Philadelphia got on the board first against Tom Koehler in the bottom of the third. Freddy Galvis singled to open the frame, and with two outs after advancing to second on a passed ball, scored on a Maikel Franco RBI single to center field.

Miami's lone run against David Buchanan came in the fourth, when Enrique Hernandez hit a solo home run to left field.

The Phillies added two more in the fourth, when Domonic Brown grounded into a double play which allowed Chase Utley to score and Carlos Ruiz's RBI single made it a 3-1 contest.

Ben Revere singled against Dan Jennings and stole second to open the bottom of the eighth before scoring on an Utley ground ball to shortstop which gave the Phillies a three run edge.

Carter Capps pitched well in relief, and Anthony DeSclafani relieved Jennings before Cishek closed the game.
