Miami Marlins vs. Philadelphia Phillies: Game 146 Thread and Ichthyomancy

One night after a horrific Giancarlo Stanton injury, the Miami Marlins have to travel to Philadelphia to face the Phillies to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

The Miami Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies face off in the first game of a three-game series that may go a long way to determining the Fish's slim chances at the playoffs. Miami is down their star talent in Giancarlo Stanton, who was injured yesterday in an ugly hit-by-pitch injury. The team will have to rely on the rest of their roster to carry the load against Cole Hamels and the Phillies. Henderson Alvarez will try and do his best.

Pitching Matchup
PROJ ERA FIP ERA MARLINS Phillies ERA FIP PROJ ERA
3.84 3.63 2.88 Alvarez Hamels 2.56 3.18 3.32

Henderson Alvarez quietly has had a disappointing second half, complete with poorer peripherals. But his ERA is still impressive, and he is still one of the Fish's three best starters, so he will go out and try and shut down the Phillies with the team aching for some positives.
