New Orleans won both games of a doubleheader against the Memphis Red Birds Sunday. The first game started already in progress from a game that was suspended on Saturday. The game was tied at four entering the 8th inning, but New Orleans would get a solo homerun from Zack Cox to take a 5-4 lead. Arquimedes Caminero would pitch around two hits to nail down the save. In game two the Zephyrs would win 4-1 in seven innings. Robert Morey pitched six innings of shutout baseball, and struck out eight batters. Derek Dietrich contributed two doubles, and Zack Cox added a single, a triple, and two RBI.

The Jacksonville Suns defeated the BayBears 5-0 Sunday night. Justin Nicolino had another fantastic outing. In what will be his last start of the regular season, Nicolino went seven innings allowing no runs, with six strikeouts. Nicolino will finish the 2014 regular season with a 2.85 ERA. Austin Barnes got the start at second base and had two singles. Brady Shoemaker knocked a solo homer in 8th inning. Jacksonville sits in first place of the South Division in the Southern League standings by a half game, with one game left to play.
Advanced Class A: Jupiter Hammerheads L 14-1 vs. Fort Myers Miracle

Jupiter was defeated easily by Fort Myers Sunday. The Hammerheads fell 14-1 to the Miracle. Cody Crabaugh was knocked around for seven runs in less than three innings. Raudel Lazo allowed three runs, and CJ Robinson allowed four runs in relief. Juan Avila, and Yosmany Guerra had multi-hit games, but the Hammerheads only run would come on a Guerra single in the 7th inning.
Low Class A: Greensboro Grasshoppers W 3-1 @ Kannapolis Intimidators

The Grasshoppers added to their franchise record in victories with a 3-1 win at Kannapolis. Chris Sadberry was fantastic, throwing five shutout innings while striking out six. The outing lowered his ERA with Greensboro to 2.65. Greensboro did all their scoring in the sixth inning. Carlos Lopez hit an RBI triple which would be followed by a Brian Anderson two run homerun. The win brings Greensboro's record to 86-53.
Short Season Class A: Batavia Muckdogs W 7-6 vs. Auburn Doubledays

The Muckdogs defeated the Auburn Doubledays 7-6 Sunday. Starter Steven Farnworth did not fare well, allowing six runs in three innings. The Muckdogs would themselves down 6-1 late in the game, but a six run 8th inning led them to their 7-6 victory. Aaron Blanton had two hits and two RBI, Rony Cabrera had a pair of hits, and Hiram Martinez had two RBI.
