Tom Koehler is coming off of one of his better starts of the season, a seven inning outing against the Reds during which he struck out three and did not allow a run. Koehler did not pitch against Pittsburgh when the Pirates were at Marlins Park in June.

Jeff Locke pitched five and a third innings against the Diamondbacks in his last start, allowing six runs (four earned) while walking two and striking out five.
