MLB Scores: Los Angeles Angels 6, Miami Marlins 1

The Miami Marlins fell to the Los Angeles Angels 6-1 on Wednesday night. Henderson Alvarez struggled and Adeiny Hechavarria's solo home run was all the offense Miami could put together.

Henderson Alvarez has been Miami's most consistent starter all season, but even he had issues facing the Angels' lineup. Alvarez allowed a pair of home runs, and Miami couldn't put together a rally in a 6-1 loss to Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

Adeiny Hechavarria hit a solo home run against Hector Santiago in the top of the third, but the Angels scored three times in the bottom of the frame.

Mike Trout and Josh Hamilton both added RBI hits, and an Albert Pujols RBI groundout gave the Angels a 3-1 edge.

A Gordon Beckham home run in for fourth extended Los Angeles' lead, and Alvarez allowed another run in the seventh before exiting. In six and a third innings, Alvarez allowed five runs while walking one and striking out three.

Hector Santiago, on the contrary, was solid against Miami's lineup, tossing five and two third innings of one run baseball.

A.J. Ramos finished the seventh, and Steve Cishek allowed an unearned run after he couldn't cleanly field a John McDonald ground ball.

Miami opens a weekend series with the Braves starting tomorrow night.
