Still in the hunt and coming off of a 13-5 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Friday night, the Miami Marlins will look to win the series with a victory in game two of the three game set on Saturday night. Tom Koehler will oppose Jordan Lyles on the mound.

Pitching Matchup
PROJ ERA FIP ERA MARLINS Rangers ERA FIP PROJ ERA
4.30 3.87 3.82 Koehler Lyles 4.01 4.20 5.19

Tom Koehler gets the start for the Marlins coming off of a nice start against Arizona. In six innings, Koehler allowed two runs while walking a pair and striking out seven.

Miami scored quickly and often against Franklin Morales on Friday, and will look to do the same against Jordan Lyles. Lyles is coming off of a five inning outing against Cincinnati, during which he allowed five runs while walking two and striking out four.

Against the Marlins earlier in the year, Lyles went five innings and allowed four runs while striking out five.

Lineup

Today's Lineups

Marcell Ozuna - CF Mike McKenry - C
Jarrod Saltalamacchia - C Charlie Culberson - SS
Adeiny Hechavarria - SS DJ LeMahieu - 2B

The lineup is back as usual against the surprisingly effective righty Jordan Lyles. Miami is looking to get more of the production it got yesterday, when the entire team got into the hit parade.

Notes

-Can the Marlins start the road trip with a series win? After the series with the Rockies, Miami heads to Los Angeles and Atlanta as the club tries to remain in contention.

-Will Koehler pitch well? Henderson Alvarez was solid on Friday, but the bullpen had to work the final few innings. A quality start by Koehler would keep the bullpen fresh.

Bold Prediction: Marlins def. Rockies 9-3
