The Miami Marlins are trying to stay in the race for a Wild Card spot, and in order to do that, they will have to win the games they are expected to win. One of those series of games should include this upcoming set against the bottom-dwelling Colorado Rockies, who are last in the National League right now.
Pitching Matchup
PROJ ERA | FIP | ERA | MARLINS | Rockies | ERA | FIP | PROJ ERA |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
3.71 | 3.31 | 2.43 | Alvarez | Morales | 5.04 | 5.69 | 5.49 |
Henderson Alvarez hates places where home runs fly out of parks fairly often. It is one likely reason why he struggled so much in Toronto for the Blue Jays, and he may face similar problems here in Colorado tonight. Luckily for Miami, the team gets Morales, who has simply been awful after returning to the starting rotation a few years removed from leaving Colorado as a reliever.
Lineup
Jeff Baker is in to face the lefty Morales, and Donovan Solano continues to make starts as the Marlins' next attempt at figuring out the second base situation.
Notes
- Giancarlo Stanton. Watch him tonight. He might hit a ball a really long ways. He does that in Colorado.
Bold Prediction: Marlins def. Rockies 6-3
