New Orleans got pounded 12-0 by Memphis Sunday night. The Red Birds slapped 18 hits to the Zephyrs 4. Starting pitcher Elih Villanueva did not make it out of the third inning and allowed six runs. Justin Bour and Zack Cox each had a pair of singles, but that is all New Orleans would get offensively. The loss drops the Zephyrs to 60-62.
Double A: Jacksonville Suns L 3-4 vs. Mississippi Braves

The Jacksonville Suns lost a back and forth game to the Mississippi Braves 4-3. JT Realmuto, Brent Keys,, and Brady Shoemaker each had multi-hit games and starter Dustin Moseley pitched very well. The Suns had the lead going into the top of the 8th, but a Cedric Hunter triple off Matt Ramsey would score two runs to give the Braves the lead for good.

The Hammerhead bats remained quiet as they could only muster five hits in a 4-2 loss to Port Charlotte. A three run second inning proved to be the deciding factor. Starting pitcher Matt Milroy did not make it out of the 5th allowing all four runs in the game. Matt Juengel knocked a homerun, his sixth of the year, and Chad Wallach reached base three times.
Low Class A: Greensboro Grasshoppers W 6-1 @ Hickory Crawdads

The Grasshoppers continued their winning ways by defeating Hickory 6-1 on the road. Felix Munoz contributed three hits including an RBI, while Carlos Lopez reached base three times and scored two runs. With a one run lead in the 9th inning second basemen Brian Anderson hit a three run homer to put the game away. It was Anderson's fifth homerun of the season.
Short Season Class A: Batavia Muckdogs L 2-5 vs. Brooklyn Cyclones

Batavia dropped a game to the Brooklyn Cyclones 5-2 on Sunday. Ben Holmes (aka Ben Wetzler) pitched very well, allowing no runs and striking out four in four innings. The outing lowers his season ERA to 3.16. Mason Davis extended his hitting streak to four games, and catcher Christopher Hoo had two doubles, as part of a four hit day. The score was tied 2-2 heading into the 9th inning, but Brooklyn would score three in the inning to take a three run lead. Batavia was unable to score in their half of the 9th giving Brooklyn the win.
Rookie League: GCL Marlins Off Sunday
