Miami made a move just minutes before the deadline, acquiring Jarred Cosart, Kike Hernandez, and Austin Wates from the Houston Astros. Houston is reportedly receiving Jake Marisnick, Colin Moran, and a competitive balance pick in return.
It was reported earlier the Marlins had "checked in" on Cosart.

With several arms they were after gone this morning, the Marlins added Cosart just minutes before the deadline. Cosart has posted a 9-7 record, 4.41 ERA and 4.02 FIP while filling the Marlins' need for a starting pitcher with experience.
Enrique Hernandez could serve as a utility man with the Marlins, having both infield and outfield experience. Hernandez is batting .284 in 24 games with the Astros this season and may be a second base option.
Austin Wates is an outfield prospect who will likely head to Triple-A. In AAA with the Astros, Wates is batting .299 with a .396 on base percentage.
Jake Marisnick has received little major league time with the Marlins' outfield filled with Christian Yelich, Marcell Ozuna, and Giancarlo Stanton.
Colin Moran is a former first round pick whose development has slowed down, and Francis Martes and the 2015 competitive balance pick completed the deal for the Astros.
