MLB Scores: Miami Marlins 3, Atlanta Braves 2

The Miami Marlins topped the Atlanta Braves 3-2 on Thursday night. Henderson Alvarez pitched well in eight innings as the Marlins won the series.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia's ninth innings RBI single against Craig Kimbrel in the top of the ninth lifted the Marlins to a 3-2 victory on Thursday night at Turner Field.

Marcell Ozuna reached safely on a strike out, and reached second safely on a Kimbrel wild pitch before Saltalamacchia drove in the go ahead run.

Henderson Alvarez pitched well, as the Braves' only offense came in the bottom of the second, when Chris Johnson hit a two run home run to left field.

Alvarez was dominant, pitching eight innings while walking one and striking out four.

Miami tied the game at two against Aaron Harang when Adeiny Hechavarria added an RBI single and Christian Yelich drove in a run with a ground out.

Steve Cishek pitched a scoreless ninth as the Marlins won the three game series.
