Miami couldn't start the second half strong, as Nathan Eovaldi's early inning struggles continued in a 9-1 Giants victory at Marlins Park on Friday night.
San Francisco got on the board first in the top of the second, when a Brandon Crawford home run to right field gave the Giants a two run edge.
Buster Posey and Michael Morse RBI singles in the third gave the Giants a four run lead, and Eovaldi's struggles continued as the Giants put five on the board in the fifth.
Pablo Sandoval's three run home run in between a Posey RBI single and Crawford sacrifice fly broke the game open and made it a 9-0 contest.
Eovaldi was pulled after just four innings, during which he allowed eight runs while walking one and striking out five.
Madison Bumgarner was effective against Miami's lineup, and didn't allow a run until the bottom of the sixth when Giancarlo Stanton took him deep to center field.
Dan Jennings gave up a run in relief, but Chris Hatcher, Bryan Morris, Mike Dunn, and Steve Cishek were all solid out of the Marlins' bullpen.
