Heading into the All-Star break, the Miami Marlins internally discussed the need to add both a starting pitcher and second baseman. Jacob Turner could be slotted into the rotation come July 22 if the Marlins choose to hold off on a move.
During the All-Star game press conferences, Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton was asked about returning home to play for the Dodgers, and noted it was always a dream.
The Miami Marlins have a very short window of time to figure out what to do with Giancarlo Stanton. Their odds of re-signing the slugger are slim, and taking him to free agency to test those odds would be a dangerous proposition.
