There was question as to whether Nathan Eovaldi would make his next start because he and his wife are expecting a baby in the coming days, but Eovaldi will indeed pitch against the Pirates on Friday night.
In his last start, Eovaldi went seven and two third innings and gave up three runs while walking one and striking out eight Cubs. Eovaldi pitched well but received a no decision because of the lack of early offense.
Jeff Locke went seven innings and gave up one run while striking out five against the Milwaukee Brewers in his last start.
