Miami Marlins Daily Minor League Report: May 4

Avery Romero picked up three hits in Greensboro, Austin Brice had a rough day in Jupiter, Jose Urena was terrific in eight innings for Jacksonville, and New Orleans lost despite scoring 12 runs.

Jared Rogers, SP: 2.1 IP, 9 H, 7 ER, 1 BB, 1 K

The Zephyrs pitching staff's woes continued as they gave up 15 runs on Sunday to a weak Round Rock lineup. Jared Rogers and Arquimedes Caminero each gave up six or more runs apiece. On the bright side, New Orleans had no problem putting numbers on the board and every member of the Zephyrs lineup had one or more hits.

Jose Urena, SP: 8 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 7 K

Jose Urena turned in his second impressive start in a row, this time going eight strong innings to lead the Suns to a 6-4 win in Mississippi. Urena has now not allowed a walk in his last 21 innings. After getting off to a rough start in Jacksonville, it appears that Urena is back on track. J.T. Realmuto reached base four times to lead the Jacksonville lineup.

Jupiter got shutout by the Cardinals on Sunday. Austin Brice had another rough start, not making it even five innings. Brice has had a ridiculous up and down start to the season as he has always struggled with consistency.

Low Class A: Greensboro Grasshoppers

Greensboro's three-run second inning turned out to be all they needed Sunday against West Virginia. Avery Romero had three hits, continuing to keep closer to .300 (He's now hitting .298). Domingo German somehow managed to only give up two runs in five innings, despite allowing a whopping 12 hits.
