The Miami Marlins are coming off a non-pleasant series loss to the Milwaukee Brewers and they get the prize of facing off against a division rival in a three-game pit stop in Washington DC, as the Fish face the Washington Nationals for three games before going home. It's Memorial Day and an afternoon with the Fish!
Pitching Matchup
PROJ ERA | FIP | ERA | MARLINS | BREWERS | ERA | FIP | PROJ ERA |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
3.93 | 3.15 | 3.41 | Eovaldi | Roark | 3.42 | 3.68 | 4.14 |
Nathan Eovaldi will take his strike-pounding talents to the mound today for Miami. In his last start, he got the win and only allowed one run to the Philadelphia Phillies in the Marlins' 14-5 shellacking of the team, but his line was not impressive. He only mustered two strikeouts versus one walk against the Phils.
Tanner Roark is having an impressive season for a typically loaded Nationals rotation, and he'll look to continue his success against Miami.
Lineup
The Marlins go back to their usual lineup versus the righty Roark, as everyone is back in their typical positions. Can the Fish get better offense versus the established Roark than they did yesterday against the newbie Jimmy Nelson?
Notes
- It's Memorial Day! Fire up the grill, but make sure you come back and check out the Fish tonight!
