Coming off of a 9-5 loss to Milwaukee on Friday night, the Miami Marlins will look to bounce back in game two of the series on Saturday afternoon. Jacob Turner will be on the mound for the Marlins.
Pitching Matchup
PROJ ERA | FIP | ERA | MARLINS | Brewers | ERA | FIP | PROJ ERA |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
4.43 | 4.59 | 6.59 | Turner | Peralta | 2.18 | 3.89 | 4.89 |
Jacob Turner continues his quest for consistency and will be facing a quality offensive team in the Brewers. In his last time out against the Giants, Turner went six innings and gave up four runs while walking one and striking out seven. Turner got behind early against San Francisco, but will look to command all of his pitches against Milwaukee.
Wily Peralta went five innings in his last outing against the Braves, yielding three runs while walking four and striking out five.
Lineups
Miami turns to the same lineup that was used against Milwaukee on Friday night. Garrett Jones and Giancarlo Stanton both hit a pair of solo home runs on Friday, and the Marlins will look for offensive production with runners in scoring position on Saturday.
Ryan Braun returns to the lineup in right field after getting Friday off for the Brewers.
Notes
-How will Turner perform? With Andrew Heaney looming, Turner's chances of staying with the Marlins long term may be diminishing.
-Will the offense carry the team? After scoring five runs on Friday, the Marlins may have to score consistently to defeat a free swining Brewers team.
Bold Prediction: Marlins def. Brewers 10-7
