Henderson Alvarez is still looking to become consistent, and should be able to do so by throwing his fastball and sinker down in the strike zone frequently. In his last start, Alvarez went six innings and gave up five runs while striking out four San Francisco Giants.

Cole Hamels was dominant in his last start against the Reds, during which he went seven innings and gave up one run while walking two and striking out ten. Miami hasn't fared well against left-handed starters for most of the year.
