Fish Cap: Miami Marlins 5, Philadelphia Phillies 6

Garret Jones had four hits, but it wasn't enough as Anthony DeSciafani struggled in his home debut as a Marlin.

Garret Jones Shines with Four Hits

Garrett Jones had a game to remember Wednesday at Marlins Park. Going 4-for-5 with two doubles and driving in two runs, Jones was seemingly on-base practically every inning. Unfortunately, the bottom third of the lineup behind Jones went a combined 1-for-15. It's a shame that Jones's stellar day at the plate couldn't have become capitalized upon by his teammates.

DeSciafani Struggles in Second Start

Anthony DeSclafani had his first rough outing in the Majors in his home debut against the Phillies. In the second, third, and fourth innings, DeSciafani was untouchable. However, in the first, fifth, and sixth, DeSciafani made some key mistakes that led to him allowing five earned runs. Perhaps most depressing is the fact that four out of the Phillies six hits against DeSciafani went for extra-base hits. Nonetheless, DeSciafani didn't completely blow up and as he is still so inexperienced and learning with every start, Marlins fans will have to develop patience with starts like this and look forward to brighter times.
